HARVEST Clean Eats Enhances Commitment to Sustainability with New Eco-Friendly Practices

Atlantic Canada, July 5th, 2024 / HARVEST Clean Eats is proud to share its ongoing efforts toward a greener future through its sustainability campaign, marked by several significant advancements in eco-friendly practices. As part of HARVEST’s unwavering dedication to the environment, its initiatives are designed to reduce waste, support sustainable communities, and encourage others to make more sustainable choices!

Packaging

Since day one, HARVEST Clean Eats has prioritized eco-friendly packaging by serving takeout orders in reusable bags and compostable pulp bowls and trays. In 2024, HARVEST expanded efforts by introducing a reusable cup program and transitioning to biodegradable cutlery to further reduce single-use plastic waste. Guests can also choose to dine-in at any HARVEST location where meals are served in reusable melamine wares and beverages are served in mason jars or mugs.

Reusable Cup Program:

As of May 2024, guests can now bring a clean reusable cup to any HARVEST location and receive $0.25 off their drink order. This initiative encourages the reduction of single-use cups

and promotes a culture of reusability, one cup

at a time!

Compostable Cutlery:

In a continuous effort to minimize environmental impact, HARVEST has begun transitioning to compostable & recyclable cutlery made from PFAS-free paper that is certified by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC). These utensils are fully recyclable in waste streams reducing the environmental impact significantly. HARVEST is proud to partner with Sabert Corporation for all packaging products. This partnership aligns with HARVEST’s mission to provide not only fresh and nutritious meals but also to ensure that our practices are environmentally sustainable. Sabert is renowned for their innovative and eco-friendly packaging solutions.

Community Engagement

HARVEST Clean Eats has committed to active participation in sustainable community initiatives throughout 2024. Both HARVEST headquarters and franchise partners engage in local sustainability projects, aiming to foster positive change, reduce carbon footprints, and support eco-friendly practices.

Our Partners

Over the years, partnering with like-minded, sustainable businesses has been top priority. HARVEST is proud to collaborate with environmentally-conscious businesses such as Tractor Beverage Co, Libra Made with Local, and Libra Beverage Co. These partnerships allow HARVEST to source responsibly, minimize environmental impact and promote local, sustainable businesses!

"The strength of our sustainability initiatives lies in the partnerships we've developed with like-minded businesses over the years. It’s all about who you surround yourself with, and by working with other businesses who are focused on sustainability, we are able to drive positive change on an even larger scale than we could imagine!” - Baylee Hood, Partner; Director of Operations & Training

Too Good To Go

In March 2024, HARVEST joined forces with Too Good To Go, an app dedicated to combating food waste. This partnership allows the restaurant locations to offer surplus food at reduced prices, ensuring perfectly good food doesn’t go to waste. By collaborating with Too Good To Go, HARVEST is making strides in food conservation and raising awareness about the importance of reducing food waste.
